The full-scale soft-goods renovation of The Louie, a Davenport Hotel, reintroduces a historic Spokane property through a refined, hospitality-driven lens. Formerly The Lusso, the hotel assumes a new identity through a holistic transformation of its programming, interiors, branding, and service—establishing a distinctive presence among KSL’s four Marriott Autograph Collection hotels in Spokane. Contemporary guest expectations are balanced with thoughtful references to the property’s legacy and regional context. Harken Interiors drew inspiration from the hotel’s namesake, Louis Davenport, whose vision helped shape a thriving hospitality industry in the Pacific Northwest in the early 1900s.

Subtle historical references are woven throughout a modern design framework. A custom carpet takes its cues from Davenport’s signature; art and artifacts evoke his investment in the botany of Spokane, the Lilac City; and tailored millwork details nod to the building’s heritage craftsmanship. Davenport once lived in the Whitten Block while watching the neighboring Historic Davenport Hotel rise from the ground. Today, the building welcomes guests into residentially scaled public spaces, complemented by butler service and 48 thoughtfully appointed king rooms and suites. Together, they offer an intimate expression of Davenport’s enduring tradition of hospitality.
